Mercedes-Benz uses NOx sensors in some of its diesel models. The location of the NOx sensor varies depending on the model. In some models, the NOx sensor is located in the exhaust manifold, while in other models, it is located in the exhaust pipe.

NOx sensors are typically made of zirconium oxide, which is a semiconductor material. When NOx is present in the exhaust gas, it reacts with the zirconium oxide, causing a change in the electrical resistance of the sensor. This change in resistance is then converted into an electrical signal that is sent to the engine computer. The engine computer uses this signal to adjust the fuel injection and air intake to reduce NOx emissions.

NOx sensors are an important part of the emissions control system on diesel vehicles. By measuring the amount of NOx in the exhaust gas, NOx sensors help to ensure that NOx emissions are kept within legal limits.
